Ways to Give
The benefits of giving through the EFSC Foundation
Making a difference in the lives of students at Eastern Florida State College is one of the many benefits of your philanthropy. Donors tell us that they feel good about helping a local college by impacting a local student's life — while deriving potential tax benefits and advancing retirement planning.
Gifts of all sizes and intentions help support our mission and you can explore the common giving options through the accordion below.
You can tailor your donation as an outright gift with an immediate tax benefit in the year you make the gift or focus on the future through planned giving. Donors who wish to leave a legacy at Eastern Florida can explore a building or program naming opportunity through a qualifying donation or planned gift.
Making an Impact
Every donation makes a difference for students like Julie Braga whose mom was battling cancer when Julie was a student. The scholarship that paid her tuition helped her become the local busnesswoman she is today.
An investment in EFSC supports higher education – the foundation for local and national economic success.

Gifts-in-kind are valuable resources which can make a difference in instructional resources, facilities, and activities. In some cases the gift to the EFSC Foundation could potentially be put to use at the College and in other cases, it could be sold, with the proceeds benefiting student scholarships or other program expenses. Examples of in-kind gifts include:
- Donated antiques, coin collections, fine art, or other property
- Any items that may be used by students and faculty at EFSC
The donor benefits with the potential for a charitable tax deduction for the appraised market value of the property.
Please contact the Foundation Office to facilitate acceptance of your gift and discuss any potential tax benefits with your financial advisor.
Engraved stone pavers are placed in the outside courtyard areas surrounding our Student Union building on the Melbourne Campus. Proceeds benefit student scholarships and other College initiatives.
With three sizes to choose from and your choice of text, you can purchase a paver for yourself, a business, or a loved one.
Memorial gifts are a meaningful way to recognize someone, with donations made "In Lieu of Flowers" recognized with a sympathy card mailed to the honoree's family.
Use our secure, online system to make a memorial gift by using the form's "Other" field to supply the information about who the gift is in memory of and contact information, if available, for the family. The online form also includes the ability to choose from several ongoing Memorial Scholarship Funds as a designation for the gift.
Explore our Online Scholarships listing for existing scholarships you may want to donate to in honor of or in memory of someone.

Many of our donors honor family and friends, both living and deceased, with the establishment of tribute or memorial scholarships, sponsorship of educational facilities or cultural activities, endowed faculty chairs, and more. Contact us about these options.
Planned or Deferred Giving refers to the process of making a charitable gift of assets. This type of giving to EFSC requires consideration of the donor's overall estate plan and there are many types of planned gifts which may match your intentions.
By including specific language in a will or trust naming the Eastern Florida State College Foundation as the recipient of a gift, donors help ensure the future of the College's services and programs in the community, while also meeting the donors' financial goals. These gifts may provide immediate income and substantial tax savings for the donor.
Planned gifts may include:
- Bequests
- Real Estate and/or Personal Property
- Memorials and Tributes
- Securities: Stocks and Bonds
Many planned gifts require the assistance of a qualified professional advisor to complete. You should consult with your estate and/or tax professional before completing such gifts.
To compare the different types of planned gifts and their benefits, explore our Planned Giving Guide plus you can visit our webpage that explains several options in more detail.
